Preschool

Our Minnows preschool is a warm and protective environment, rhythmically repetitive and secure, in which your child will successfully make the transition from home to school.  The preschool program gives children the opportunity for creative play, engaging them in activities through which their imaginative powers are  nurtured.

The activities of our preschool and kindergartens prepare our students for their elementary school years.

  • Songs and nursery rhymes cultivate intimacy with language and the world of words.
  • Listening to stories, watching puppet plays, and participating in dramatic play stimulate the imagination so that it becomes central to learning.
  • Counting games and rhythmic activities build a solid foundation for arithmetic and number skills.
  • Painting and crafts help the children develop small motor skills, coordination, and the ability to concentrate.
  • Vigorous play develops their large motor skills.

In the natural, loving, and creative environment of the preschool, children are given the freedom and security to prepare for the next phase of school life.

Minnows is a preschool program for children who are three years old by May 31st of the year of entry. Families have the option of enrolling their child for 2,3, or 5 days a week. The Minnows school day is from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. There is no after-school care for the preschool.

We also offer Parent and Child Classes for children 1-3 years of age.
