Sports at Bright Water School

Cooperative games in the early years yield to competitive sports in middle school, but overall, Bright Water School athletes maintain Waldorf principles on the field: Physical, social, and emotional development is still the most important objective. There are no cuts, and while students are encouraged to improve and excel, we emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship, and discipline.

Bright Water School offers the following after school sports to all students in grades 6-8:

  • Co-Ed Cross-Country
  • Girls Basketball
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Co-Ed Ultimate Frisbee

Bright Water School competes through the CYO league for cross-country, volleyball, and basketball. Ultimate Frisbee is organized through Disc NW.

Student athletes strive to represent Bright Water School with honor and dignity on and off the fields of play.

“The heart of the Waldorf method is that education is an art—it must speak to the child’s experience.  To educate the whole child, his heart and his will must be reached, as well as his mind.”                                   -Rudolf Steiner
