Kirsten Dahlberg, Grade Six Teacher

Ms. Dahlberg is a graduate of the Seattle Waldorf School, the University of Washington ( BA, Latin American Studies) and the Sound Circle Center Teacher Training.   She joined the Bright Water School faculty in 2011.

Ms.Dahlberg previously worked as a trainer and respondent at the 211 Crisis Clinic in Seattle for five years.  Her teaching experience includes tutoring high school students in English and in Spanish in a wide range of subjects, assisting classroom teachers with Spanish-language immersion lessons, working with at-risk youth to write, produce, and perform original plays, and mentoring students on worker’s rights and responsibilities, and life skills.  She also has worked as an Artist-in-Residence at Bailey Gatzert Elementary School in partnership with the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center to develop and teach an interdisciplinary program incorporating geography, story-telling, and the arts to three different grade two classes.
