Parent and Child Classes
Unending wonder and delight are the natural responses of the young child to life. In our fast-paced, technological society, parents need to consciously create a home environment which can nurture these qualities as well as promote healthy growth and development.
Join us to meet other parents with young children, to learn about the Waldorf approach to early childhood, and to help build a community of support for today's children.
Parent and Child Program for 2009-10
Parent and Child classes take place in rhythm with the Early Childhood program at Bright Water. The class begins in September and ends in June, following the same vacation/break schedule as the rest of the school and is open to children who are between the ages of one and three years by September 1st of the year of entry.
Class takes meets once a week on Wednesday from 8:45 am to 10:15 am or 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Parent & Child classes are divided into three session: Fall, Winter, and Spring. You may enroll in one, two, or all three sessions.
Classes are held at Bright Water School and consist of circle and story time, and a snack. Parent education is an important part of our Early Childhood program, and Parent and Child families will take part in at least one parent evening per session. There are ten children per class. Tuition for each session is as follows:
- Fall Session (12 weeks): $360
- Winter Session (10 weeks): $300
- Spring Session (8 weeks): $240
Enrollment for Parent and Child classes begins in June for Fall entry. Families are enrolled based on an interest in Waldorf education and a willingness to work with its educational principles. PLease contact Admissions Coordinator Vivian Syme for more information and to request a registration form.
For children turning 3 by September 1st of the year of school entry, we offer Preschool Classes.
